SEGOVIA

The present Cathedral of Segovia is located in the center of town in one corner of the Plaza Mayor.  It was originally closer to the Alcázar castle but it was destroyed in a war.  Emperor Charles I ordered it rebuilt in 1525, but it was not completed until 1615. On its completion, the building was so splendid that it was called "La Dama de las Catedrales" (the Lady of the Cathedrals).
