This website was created for use by Middle School students who are studying Spanish. As such, on a number of pages the Spanish information may be very general. This would include simple vocabulary and simple grammar. On pages that do not deal with Spanish words & grammar (such as the cultural information) the material is written at the level the Middle School student should be reading.
Because some students may have an interest in furthering their studies of Spanish, information that is not at the level of a Middle School student is also presented. This may also be the case concerning pages that do not deal with Spanish words & grammar, where additional information at a higher reading level is available.
In order that students may easily navigate the website we have instituted a simple rating system. If the material is specifically designed for a Middle School student the letter (M) will follow the link title. If the material is above the level of a Middle School student the letter (H) will follow the link title. If the material is general and can benefit any student there is no designation.
In a number of cases two separate pages where created, one at the level of the Middle School (M) and one page above the level of the Middle School student (H). The Middle School designed pages will contain less content, usually more pictures and a larger type-face to facilitate reading. As an example read the "Windmills" passage from Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra:
Windmills - (H)
Windmills - (M)
Note: You may have to use your backbutton to return to this page
Of course any pages that were specifically created for a class will only contain material appropriate for the level of that class, although links may be available directing students to higher level material.
This new rating system is still being applied to existing webpages so please check back periodically.
