Spanish or English. There is a non-Java option available, but it is much less
graphic.

receive the solution for the entire activity.

Matching
Matching Clicking - In this Quiaź

on cards that match. In this case it would be the Spanish word and its English
translation (or visa versa).
Matching Dragging - In this
activity students "drag" a word from the column on the right to the matching
word on the column on the left. After completing the activity students click on a
button. All incorrect answers will be returned to the right column. Students
can continue the activity until they have correctly matched up all terms.
Matching One Picture - In this activity students are
shown a picture and 10 vocabulary terms. They have to decide if the term has something in
common with the picture. They drag the terms to the center of the picture. If
it is correct the term will turn green and translate. If they are wrong the term
will turn red and translate. In either case the original term is shown following the
translated term. This activity is not compatible with both browsers and is limited
to 10 terms.
Matching Two Pictures - In this activity students are
shown two pictures and 10 vocabulary terms. The terms match one picture, but not the
other. The students have to drag the term to the center of the appropriate picture.
If they are correct the term will translate and move back to the bottom. If
it is incorrect the term will remain in place on the picture until it is moved to the
correct picture. This activity is not compatible with both browsers and is limited
to 10 terms.
Matching Six Pictures: Students are shown six pictures
and one vocabulary word. They have to drag the correct picture to the vocabulary
word to continue the exercise.

this activity students type the letter from the right column that matches the correct
numbered item in the left column. After completing the activity students can check

activity until they correctly matched up all terms.
Matching - Choose a Word: In this exercise the
students are shown a picture. They have to choose from among a list of words in
order to proceed.
Reading Practice
Gloss Maker - This activity allows you to
introduce new vocabulary words to a reading activity. The new words are underlined.
When the words are clicked a definition appears in a box to the right. This
activity could also be combined with an exercise to create a reading quiz.
New Window Gloss Maker - In this activity students pass
their mouse over new vocabulary words causing a new small window to open. In this
window is the definition of the word. The window remains open for approximately 2
seconds, but a student can always go back. After they can complete a simple activity
with jumbled sentences.
Reading with Definitions: In this activity
students are shown a story one page at a time. New words are listed at the bottom.
Students can hold their mouse in a box next to the new words to see the definition.
Timed Activity
Timed Activity - In this
activity students are shown a list of 10 words. They can select a speed for the game
(slow, medium or fast). They then start the activity. A word in Spanish is
shown and the students have to click on the corresponding English word from the list.
A running score is shown. This activity has its limitations. This activity is
limited to 10 words. The words repeat themselves. You cannot switch between
Spanish and English. This is no end to the activity. It does however build up the
speed recognition for words.
Vocabulary Introduction with Pictures
Vocabulary Dragging - In this activity
students are shown a representative picture of the group of vocabulary words. (In
this example which deal with sports they are shown a soccer ball to represent sports in
general.) They are also shown 10 vocabulary words in Spanish. When they drag
the terms to the center of the page they change color and go back to the pile.
However, the words have now translated (although the original Spanish also remains so that
the students have feedback.) The activity could be designed with English words
giving Spanish translations. This activity is not compatible with both browsers and
is limited to 10 terms.
Vocabulary Flip Cards - In this example students click on
a word and are shown a representative picture.
Vocabulary with Pictures: In
this example students scroll through pictures of animals. Below the pictures is the
word in Spanish and in English.
Vocabulary with Pictures and Sound: In this example students
are shown words in Spanish. They place their mouse over the words and are shown a
picture of the word. Then the students can click on the picture and hear the word
pronounced. You can use words instead of pictures (in other words show the word in
English and then have the word shown in Spanish).
